Becoming The New You - A Newsletter for Women in Menopausal Transition
Why subscribe?
Hi,
I’m Annabelle, and I’m so glad you’re here.
If you’ve found your way to this page, you might be standing at the edge of a significant life transition—perimenopause, postmenopause, or somewhere in between. Perhaps you’re feeling the changes in your body, the shifts in your emotions, or the questions stirring in your heart. Wherever you are, I would like you to know that this stage of life is a unique experience, full of opportunities to explore who you are, clarify yourself, and grow into your new self.
I’ve been walking this path myself.
When I entered midlife transition, it felt like stepping into a field of unknown, a swirling fog and a rough storm. I only knew little about what to expect or how to prepare. My body whispered—and sometimes shouted—with changes I didn’t fully understand: dry skin, mood swings, sleep disruptions, grief, stiffness in the body, frozen shoulder, and some waves of hot flashes. And when I looked for help, I found a sea of advice—try this diet, take these supplements, replace your hormones, and so forth. It all felt overwhelming and disconnected from what I truly needed.
Ayurveda, Mindfulness and Yoga were anchors in those stormy times combined with mental health wellness tools that helped me find my footing again.
I learned that this transition isn’t a disease nor a problem to fix—it’s a natural and essential part of a woman’s journey. With the guidance and help of Ayurveda health practitioners and yoga therapists, acupuncturists, spiritual teachers, osteopaths, astrologists and mental wellness counselors, I began to prioritize selfcare and nurture my body, mind, soul, and heart in ways that honored where I was. I found clarity in the fog, grounding in the unknown, calming the storm, and my symptoms softened and dissolved over time. More importantly, I emerged with a deeper understanding and connection to myself, feeling vibrant and strong again and grounded into a new stage of life.
Before I have been stepping fully into the work as an Ayurveda Health Counselor and Practitioner, Clinical Mental Health Counselor (i.T.), Mindfulness and Yoga teacher, I spent over a decade as an Osteopath and Naturopath in Germany. Back then in my practice, I often saw how the body holds emotions, recurring thoughts, memories, and stories that shape our health. One client with chronic neck pain comes to mind—they experienced profound emotional shifts during treatment tied to their relationship with their mother. As they healed emotionally, the pain dissolved. It was through these experiences that I became fascinated by the deep connections between the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of health.
When I moved to the United States, my licenses were not recognized, and I faced the challenge and opportunity of reinventing my career. It was a turning point in my life and part of my midlife transition—a chance to combine my background in integrative health with my lifelong passion for psychology and Ayurveda. I earned a B.A. in Psychology and am currently completing my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a journey that deepened both my academic and personal growth.Returning to school and immersing myself in the study of counseling felt like coming home to a deeper purpose.
This rich blend of experiences—working with the body, the mind, the soul, and the spirit—has shaped how I support women today.
Perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause is a journey (it can last up to 15 years); like any great journey, it helps to have a map and a supportive team around you. Whether you’re just beginning to notice changes or have been navigating this transition for a while, I’ll be happy to guide you a few steps on your journey through insights, stories, educational content and recommendations in this newsletter.
I created this space because I believe every woman deserves to feel supported, seen and celebrated during this time of life. This isn’t an ending—it’s a beginning. An opportunity to explore your next chapter with grace, courage, and confidence to grow into your new you.
In addition to that, I also experienced and healed from the loss of a future I had dreamed of. After I realized biological children would not be part of my story in this lifetime, I had to go on a personal journey to grieve the loss, master triggers, and reimagine and redefine my future which was all part of perimenopause. Therefore, I’m also passionate about helping other women who are navigating perimenopause and have to face again the reality and emotional whirlwind of being childfree/childless whether by choice or not. You might find content in the future about that here, too.
Also as a highly sensitive woman myself, I support other highly sensitive women in making sustainable health and well-being changes that allow them to live in better alignment with their sensitive nature during menopausal transition. This results in less stress and emotional overwhelm and much more joy and meaning in life during this essential stage in a women’s life.
My intention is to offer education, guidance, and supportive tools that help you reconnect with your body, gently fall in love with it again, and unfold into the new version of yourself that is emerging in this life phase.
This space is about cultivating inner peace, fulfillment, vitality, and deep self-awareness — not chasing health perfection or constant optimization. It is an invitation to listen inward, honor your natural rhythms, and grow with compassion toward your new Self.
If one of these resonates with you, I’d love you to subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and publication archives.
